The Team – Pre-Pink eye

Well, it’s official. The ‘Chooks are heading back to Phuket. After a most successful outing last year, the team is back.

If you look on the official Phuket 10s website you’ll find our profile, but because I know you’re all lazy F#$%ers who won’t bother clicking through, here is it.

The Groote Eylandt Mudchooks Rugby

The Groote Eylandt Mudchooks are back. Competing last year for the first time, we weren’t quite sure what to expect, but clearly neither was Phuket.

The Groote Eylandt Mudchooks were formed in 1989 to compete in the Territory 7s held in Darwin (now the Heineken Hottest 7s in the World). The Mudchooks are a group of keen Groote Eylandters, which is a small mining town off the east coast of the Northern Territory in the Gulf of Carpentaria, Australia.

The Mudchooks enjoyed the 10 man format so much they have decided to focus entirely on this tournament deciding not to go back to Darwin and defend their 2012 Gecko Shield win.

The Mudchooks set the tournament alight in 2012 with a mixture of Left field tactics and their fearsome Chooka war challenge, and they look forward to doing it all again in 2013.

So what do you reckon? ‘Chooks to take it out this year?
